Leveling Up Together: AATB’s Annual Training & Retreat in Palm Springs

A Warm Welcome & Mario’s Luncheon

The first stop on our journey was Palm Springs, where our AATB members—Amy, Hanna, Karen, Weihaur, Alex, Molly, and Rafael—gathered for an insightful and enriching experience. Unfortunately, Jingwu was unable to join us due to his father’s illness back home in China. We kept him in our thoughts throughout the trip.

On Wednesday morning, we attended Mario’s Luncheon, where we shared insights, experiences, and reflections on our business journeys. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and set the tone for the training sessions ahead.

Breathtaking Views at Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

After the luncheon, we took a trip to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, where we ascended to the top of the mountain for a delicious dinner with an incredible snow-covered view. The cold air at the peak didn’t stop us from soaking in the breathtaking scenery and enjoying the moment together.

Nightlife in Palm Springs – PS Air Bar & More

If there’s one thing we know about our team, it’s that we love to have fun! After dinner, the group decided to explore Palm Springs nightlife, starting with a visit to PS Air Bar—an aviation-themed bar known for its creative cocktails, light bites, and live entertainment. The fun didn’t stop there; we later headed to a gay bar, where we caught a talent show competition—an energetic and memorable way to end the night!

📖 AATB Training: Insights & Growth at Mario’s House

The following day, we gathered at Mario’s house for an impactful AATB training session led by Ramon. This session focused on mindset development, business strategy, and self-awareness using a framework called the Reboot Quadrate Group Discussion.

Key Discussion Points:

🔹 Insights – Understanding our strengths and weaknesses in leadership & business
🔹 Hypothesis – Brainstorming “If we do this, then this will happen” strategies
🔹 Opportunities – Identifying what each of us can bring to the table

🔹 Ground Truth – Examining real-life experiences, both positive and negative, that have shaped our community

The discussion brought important reflections—from how to improve the organization of our mixers to better engaging with new guests. These conversations were honest, thought-provoking, and necessary for the continued growth and success of AATB.

After the training, we wrapped up the evening with a wonderful dinner alongside Mario and Michael, before parting ways. Amy and Molly flew back to the Bay Area, while Hanna, Karen, Weihaur, and Rafael continued on to the next leg of our journey: Arizona!
